me looking
met w New Director yesterday. she has some good ideas. and then she has many ideas that will change the center...i just hope she doesn't implement them too soon and scare away more families!

made some yogurt-banana-strawberry popsicles. yum! didn't want to make banana bread, but knew the bananas had to be used or tossed, so i used them.

off to FiL and stepMiL's pool soon. want to see ya'll at the coffeeshop, but know that alex hasn't had the best time there recently, so i will not drag him there...

we aren't doing the coffee shop either (The Midget & I are volunteering for The Fringe).

I want to know about the popsicles. Do you have the actual plastic forms to make them in? It sounds easier than the endless smoothies that I'm always making (and cleaning up for). So - where do I get popsicle accoutrement?
;)

my mom bought them when she was here last summer, i think, either at target or cub. yup, just the plastic forms with sticks (that have drip catchers, yippee!)

ok, will buy some.
and then I need recipes!
so what do you do, just blend stuff up?

i used about 8 almost overripe bananas, some finely cur strawberries, some vanilla yogurt and OJ. mashed the bananas, mixed in the other stuff, mixed it all together in a bowl, and got 12 popsicles.
i don't know how much of anything i used...just guesstimated how much would fill our 3 containers.
i didn't use a blender or anything, b/c i think it is easier to clean a bowl than a blender/food proc.

enjoy!

you could always peel the bananas and and throw them into a plastic bag to freeze them. we do that a lot, since a certain toddler likes to abandon half-eaten bananas. they're great in smoothies, or you could throw a bunch of frozen bananas into the food processor for banana "ice cream".

mmm!
but then i would have to clean the blender/food proc--so much easier to clean just a bowl...
